Save-a-Lot Grocery Store will be raising money for the Colquitt County Food Bank from now through Dec. 21.
Patrons of the store can purchase a care package of holiday food items for $4.99 to donate to the food drive. Owner Al Solanki said their goal is to donate at least 1,000 meals to the food bank. He, himself, is matching the number of packages bought by the patrons to help reach that goal.
He said last year, which was their first drive, they were able to donate 400 meals to the food bank. So far, they have 234 packages that have been purchased by their customers.
All of the packages donated by Save-a-lot will stay in Colquitt County to aid local citizens in need.
